What is Inspire Therapy?
Inspire therapy is the only FDA-approved implantable treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. It works by delivering mild stimulation to key airway muscles during sleep, keeping your airway open without masks, hoses, or machines.
The system consists of three key components: a small generator implanted under the skin in the upper chest, a breathing sensor lead placed between the ribs, and a stimulation lead placed under the tongue.
How It Works
Senses Breathing
The breathing sensor monitors your natural breathing patterns during sleep
Delivers Stimulation
Gentle stimulation is delivered to the hypoglossal nerve during each breath
Opens Airway
The tongue and other airway muscles move forward, keeping the airway open
